Light of Cambodia is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization serving rural communities in Pursat, Cambodia. Our ministry exists to share the love of Jesus Christ by walking alongside children, families, and local leaders through long-term, relational care rooted in the gospel

Our Mission

Our mission is to glorify God by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and supporting rural Cambodian communities through spiritual care, education, family support, and partnership with local churches and leaders.

Our Vision

We envision communities transformed by the love of Jesus—where children are cared for, families are strengthened, and local believers are equipped to lead with faith, compassion, and hope.

Our Heart

At the center of everything we do is a desire to faithfully reflect Christ’s love. We believe that real change happens through relationship, presence, and obedience to the gospel—not through quick solutions or distant aid. Our commitment is to walk with people, listen well, and serve with humility as God works in and through the communities we love.

How we serve

Light of Cambodia is built on partnership, not dependency. We work closely with local pastors, teachers, and community leaders who understand the needs, culture, and spiritual life of their communities.

Our role is to support, encourage, and walk alongside—not replace—local leadership. Through prayer, discipleship, education, and practical care, we seek to meet both spiritual and physical needs while pointing people to the hope found in Jesus Christ.

We believe that sharing the gospel and caring for people go hand in hand. Every program, relationship, and decision is grounded in our faith and our desire to see lives transformed through Christ.

our Leadership

Light of Cambodia is led by a team of U.S. and Cambodian leaders who share a heart for the gospel and a deep commitment to the communities we serve. Our leadership works together prayerfully to guide the ministry with integrity, accountability, and faithfulness to God’s calling.

Nareth Meth - Founder

Co-founded Light of Cambodia and continues to help guide the heart and vision of the ministry through relationship, local partnership, and gospel-centered leadership in Cambodia.

Sydney Meth - Co-founder & Vice President

Supports ministry leadership and long-term vision for Light of Cambodia, helping strengthen relationships, guide decision-making, and keep the mission grounded in Christ-centered care and partnership.

Kim Hooie - President (US)

Provides overall leadership and direction for Light of Cambodia, working closely with U.S. and Cambodian teams to support ministry growth, discipleship, and faithful stewardship of resources.

Jennifer Johnson - Secretary/ Treasurer (US)

Oversees organizational administration and financial stewardship, supporting records, reporting, budgeting, and donor communications to help LoC operate with clarity and integrity.

Seng Sophanna - Head Pastor (Cambodia)

Serves as LoC’s head pastor in Cambodia, providing spiritual leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care while helping guide ministry direction alongside local leaders and the U.S. team.

Nouerm Vanna - Youth Pastor (Cambodia)

Leads youth ministry and supports programs for teens and young people, helping students grow in their faith and strengthening relationships with families and the local church.

Sopha Touch - Translator & Ministry Liason (Cambodia)

Serves as a key translator and liaison, helping bridge communication between U.S. and Cambodian teams and supporting day-to-day coordination, relationships, and ministry logistics on the ground.

Mom Chanthoeun - Community Liason (Cambodia)

Assists in building trusted relationships with local families and helping coordinate day-to-day ministry needs, as well as leading the feeding program for young children.

Why we do this

We serve because we believe Jesus changes lives. It is our prayer that through every relationship, program, and act of care, people would encounter the love, truth, and hope found in Him.
