What's working

Numbers don't tell the whole story, but they tell part of it. Here's some of what has happened in Pursat, not just what we're asking for.

By the numbers

Each figure below is dated to when it happened, rather than rolled into one tidy year.

Education & discipleship

Every weekday, kids in Pursat attend computer class, many touching a computer for the first time, taught by two local teachers, Kong Phally and Srey Lin.

This summer, a group of kids also completed a ten-week Good Samaritan course, learning what it means to care for others.

Family & community care

Through the Community Child Care Program, families already caring for their own children — aunts, grandparents, relatives — receive monthly food support, school uniforms and supplies, and regular visits from local pastors.

The model is built to strengthen the families already doing the work, not replace them. Our work.

Church & leadership partnership

This year, Sophanna sat down with pastors from eleven local churches. No stage, no event, just leaders getting to know each other and figuring out how to support their communities together.

And in 2026, Chan Sreylin and Chan Savin's school in Battambang joined Light of Cambodia as a new branch, extending the same relationship-first approach to a new community.

Faithful stewardship

This year also included less visible work: 230 truckloads of soil, delivered to raise the property and protect the building before monsoon rains hit.

Not glamorous, but necessary. See the financial transparency page for the full picture of how resources were stewarded.

None of this happens without you

Every number on this page traces back to people who prayed, gave, and kept showing up.

Figures on this page are refreshed as new program numbers come in from the Pursat team, most recently updated August 2026.
